If your department is needing to hire or contract a new position, please contact the IT Department as soon as possible so we can generate their access rights. These new users can take time to generate their login profiles and all their access rights. When possible please provide the following to the IT Help Desk as soon as you're aware of a potential new hire, we request at least 2 weeks notice to allow for ordering, setup and refurbishing equipment prior to the user's start date.
Full Name (preferred firstname and lastname) and make sure you're sending the correct spelling of their name. Names are a permanent identifier for users so it's very important that you provide the IT Department with the correct spelling of their name. Otherwise, we will have to delete the user account and start over.
Title, this will help assist in generating the user's roles and rights for most if not all applications. We'll also need to create an access badge for the user and take their picture and assign them to the right title, department and division as necessary.
Special Equipment needed. If the new user is taking over an existing or previous user, please specify so that we're not waiting to order equipment prior to their start date. Equipment ordering can take up to 2 weeks to arrive and deploy. Specialty equipment and COVID19 available can prolong these orders.
Special access or programs needed. We'll need to assure that the user has application licenses available and we're not waiting for your department to approve new licenses or migrating a license from a previous user. We'll also need approval from managers and supervisors for such special access or applications.
